This chunky jumper has a pretty outdoors-y feel. It is made with an aqua fleck yarn from Scotland. It is 6 ply, super soft and 100% lambswool with a multi coloured subtle fleck or Nep that runs through it. There are more colours in the yoke, a deep beertroot, tea-rose pinks and ochres. Its a seam-free jumper to ensure zero waste in production and enduring quality. The design is our take on a traditional Scottish heritage fairisle yoke which we have up-scaled and added a wide rib at the neck and cuffs.
Our fairisle jumpers are designed in our London-based studio where pattern swatches are knitted and colour-ways are created. We trial many different combinations throughout the design process until we have created the perfect result.
Aqua is part of the Forest colourway. Where Winter Fruit colours damson, blackberry and chestnut hang heavy against the soft teal tones glimpsed through the cinnamon tinted leaves and the lichen clad bark in the depth of the woods.
Small = Chest 49 cm measured flat front only / Length 60 cm / centre back to end cuff 74 cm
Medium = Chest 53 cm measured flat front only / Length 62 cm / centre back to end cuff 76 cm
Large = Chest 57 cm measured flat front only / Length 64 cm / centre back to end cuff 78 cm
The jumper is so soft because it is made with high-quality yarn which is both spun and dyed in Scotland using water from the local loch Leven, which is known for its purity and softness. This water is then cleaned and returned ensuring the precious [wildlife brown salmon and pink footed geese] are preserved in this beautiful RSPB nature reserve.
The yarn then goes to the nearby small heritage Mill where the sweaters are knitted one at a time and hand finished. These traditional Scottish skills are combined with modern technology, for a superior quality garment. We use zero waste knitting techniques to ensure our sustainable approach.
This attention to detail and time honoured craftsmanship will ensure the jumper lasts a lifetime. We hope it will be loved, kept, and passed on like an heirloom.
